Eight-year-old Carter Blanchard struggled with his confidence after developing vitiligo, a condition that causes patches of skin to lose pigment. The changes around his eyes made him feel ashamed of his appearance. 💔

Then Carter discovered Rowdy, a black Labrador with vitiligo too. 🐶🤍 Seeing Rowdy proudly embrace his unique white patches helped Carter begin seeing his own skin in a completely different way.

After following Rowdy online for about a year, Carter and his mom traveled more than 2,000 miles to Oregon to finally meet him. The moment they met, Carter immediately bonded with his new friend, spending hours hugging and petting Rowdy. 🥹

His mom described the experience as life-changing. Carter went from disliking the way he looked to feeling proud of what made him different.
