FAQ

Dog Frequently Asked Questions

A typical pet groom (excluding de-matting & de-shedding) can be completed in 2 – 3 & a half hours from the time of your appointment. If your pet has behaviour issues or skin and coat problems, or there is de-matting & deshedding processes involved, you will be looking at a longer period of time.

Imagine getting a haircut, but for your whole body! It takes a while, especially when working on an animal. There are many steps in a grooming session that need to be done thoroughly and carefully. Besides an unpleasant finished look, rushing a grooming session can lead to physical accidents such as cuts or nicks, and or mental traumas for the dog. Please schedule your appointments while keeping the length of the session in mind as we will not sacrifice the safety of your dog for a shorter time-frame.

For the pet to properly respond to the groom, it is essential that the pet be alone with the groomer and clients will not assist in the grooming unless requested to do so. Every effort will be made to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible, but an excited pet can be dangerous to work on. We ask that you do not interrupt the groomer during grooming. If you arrive to pick up your pet and they are still being groomed, please do not enter the salon, wait outside and call us to inquire about the groom.

If you would like to keep your dog in a longer style, they will require a more frequent visit. We recommend booking a grooming session for your dog every 4-6 weeks. If you can maintain the coat at home (i.e. with regular brushing) it can be every 8 weeks. However, if you are not able to properly care for the coat at home, the 4-6 weeks time-frame is strongly recommended if you’d like to avoid de-matting fees or ‘shave-downs’.

For a guaranteed spot at your desired date, please schedule your dog’s next appointment at least 2-3 weeks in advance or when picking them up from their groom.

We cannot determine your dog’s size category and the price without seeing and assessing them in person. The size category not only depends on the weight of the dog, but it’s actual size and will be determined by the groomer.
