Talis Fonseca
CEO & Groomer
With over 13 years of professional experience, Talis is a passionate and detail-oriented pet groomer known for his expertise in hand scissoring techniques and commitment to high-quality standards, which have been key to the success of BooBoo Pet Grooming, an award-winning salon he founded in Mimico. Born and raised in Brazil, he moved to Canada in 2012 after graduating from Universidade Potiguar with a degree in Oil and Gas Technology and working as an Oil and Gas Production Operator before transitioning into the pet grooming industry. Fluent in Portuguese, Talis continually advances his skills through specialized seminars, including training at Starwood Grooming School in Thailand, and is especially recognized for his calm, gentle approach with nervous pets. Outside of work, he enjoys sports and spending time in nature.
Anna Gorovykh
Groomer
Born and raised in Ukraine, Anna is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, and, given her love of cats, seemingly in “Meows” too. Certified in Animal Care, she combines natural instincts, compassion, and skillful handling, earning her the title of Booboo’s “Cat Whisperer.”
Alfredo Duarte
Groomer
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Alfredo lived 21 years in Spain before moving to Toronto. A longtime pet lover, he turned his passion into a profession, studying at the Artero International Dog Grooming Academy. With experience in both grooming and hairdressing, Alfredo brings a gentle, caring touch to Booboo’s.
Maryann Manone
Receptionist
Born and raised in Toronto, Maryann has a natural connection with the city and its pets. As stepmom to three boys and pet parent to Mordecai, she’s the friendly face and voice welcoming everyone to the Booboo’s family.
Mariana Hernandez
Groomer
Born in Mexico, Mariana moved to Toronto in 2022 and joined Booboo’s in 2024. Empathetic and dedicated, she combines professional grooming skills with genuine care, ensuring every pet feels calm, happy, and safe while looking their best.
Nadiia Solonenchenko
Bather
Born in Ukraine and now happily part of the BooBoo’s family, Nadiia brings warmth, care, and dedication to every Saturday shift. She specializes in bathing dogs, especially our adorable Yorkies, and keeps the shop sparkling, organized, and welcoming for pets and their humans.
Hector Fonseca
Bather
Hector works with us on Saturdays and brings great energy to the salon. He’s currently in high school and completing a co-op program focused on mechanics, reflecting his strong interest in cars and how things work. Hector is Talis’ nephew and has quickly become a familiar, friendly face around the shop. He’s very communicative, kind, and always happy to help. Outside of work and school, he enjoys fishing and spending time outdoors.
Valeriia Obynochnaia
Bather
Valeriia was born in a small town in Russia. Moved to Canada in 2019 and started to work in a big international corporation. Every day she was dreaming about dog care and finally decided to do a career change! February 2025 Professional Grooming course was taken and in May 2025 joined BooBoo Pet Grooming services.
David
Groomer
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, David is a professional pet groomer with experience in both Colombia and Canada. With a strong passion for dog grooming, he specializes in poodles and long-coated breeds, focusing on correct structure, coat care, and high-quality finishing. As an active grooming competitor, David combines technical precision with a deep understanding of canine behaviour, always prioritizing the well-being and comfort of every pet. His continuous participation in competitions allows him to stay aligned with international standards, advanced techniques, and current grooming trends. David is known for his attention to detail, gentle handling, and commitment to excellence, bringing a calm, confident, and professional approach to every grooming session.
